"AGGIES!, AGGIES!, AGGIES!" was the chant heard on Fayetteville Street after Monday's basketball battle between the Eagles and N.C. A&T State University as the Eagles fell 72-67 to the Aggies.
In a game that was mostly led by the Eagles, a late push midway through the second half gave the Aggies the lead, and they never looked back.
NCCU did manage to tie the score, but it was not enough to match the Aggies crisp 3-point shooting.
This was the second time the two matched up against each other after NCCU pulled an overtime victory on Jan. 24 at the Corbett Sports Center in Greensboro.
NCCU was led in scoring by junior Nick Chasten who had 24 points and senior guard C.J. Wilkerson who had 20 points.
The Eagles played in a sold-out crowd in the McLendon-McDougual gymnasium. The Eagles hit the road again this Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla. to face off against Florida A&M University.
