Campus Echo Publication Policies
ARCHIVE AND CORRECTION POLICY
Staff reporters and editors at the NCCU Campus Echo strive to make their reporting accurate and error free.
If you believe that the Campus Echo had made an error please notify us immediately.
Errors made in the print edition will be fixed in the online edition immediately. Corrections are made to online news stories as soon as our error is detected. Clarifications will be added to the end of individual stories, if needed.
The Campus Echo works under the premise that new stories written in our print and online editions are a vital historical record of NCCU and the larger community. Importanty, archived news stories are part of the institutional memory of the newspaper and the campus.
With that in mind the Campus Echo Online will not remove or conceal our archives from outside search engines. Simply put: The Campus Echo will not remove news stories, editorials, opinions, photographs or illustrations at the request of students, faculty, administrators, alumni or the general public.
If an error in our archive is documented, or if a clarification is clearly required, we will make the necessary corrections and append a note to the content acknowledging the change to the archived material. The decision to make this correction or clarification is determined by current student editors.
To notify us that archived content is not accurate or needs clarification contact the Campus Echo in writing or by e-mail with your name, phone number, e-mail address. Describe the content that is inaccurate and an explanation of the inaccuracy. Also provide the URL address of the content you want us to examine.
COMMENT POLICY
The Campus Echo does not endorse any of the content found in comment sections and cannot and will not certify comment reliability or authenticity.
Before using our comment function please review the following:
Abusive, discriminatory or insulting comments, especially comments that use gender, race, class, nationality, religion, sexual identity, or disabilities may be edited or removed from the comments sections. Obscene or sexually explicit comments will also be removed.
Never include personal information, like phone numbers or addresses, in your comments.
Do not write comments under false pretense. in other words do not pretend to be someone you are not.
When you submit commentary, you are, by that very act, consenting to these guidelines.
