Central University football team thought they would have prime field position when their defense came up with a huge stop forcing the Rattlers of Florida A&M to punt from its own 2 yard-line; However to the chagrin of the Eagle faithful, FAMU junior punter Branden Holdren changed the game with a booming 78 yard punt which forced the Eagles to start from their own 20 yard-line.
Women's cross country team takes 7th place finish while men's finish 13th.
At the Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference cross country championship held on Oct. 29 in Princess Anne, MD, the Lady Eagles ended their 2011 season 7th out of 12 teams and the men's cross country team ended in 13th out of 13 teams. It was NCCU's first time competing for a post-season title in five years.

When alumni and students came together to celebrate the homecoming of N.C. Central University Oct. 29, they hoped for a win but got the opposite. Homecoming was spoiled for the Eagles by the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (5-3) as the Eagles (1-7) stumbled 34-6.
Fumbles and penalties sends Eagles to 52-3 rout by Morgan State
Fumble! Fumble! Fumble! The Eagles (1-6, 0-3) fumbled the ball eight times, losing half of them in its 4 p.m. contest on Saturday Oct 15. The game seemed over early. The Eagles were down 42-3 at halftime against the Morgan State Bears (4-3, 3-1). Many fans threw in the towel early and left O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium before the fourth quarter.
Eagles lose 13th game of season
Intensity high, chants from the cheerleaders, the crowd by their side, the game was tied 20-20 late in the first set. For a minute, the Lady Eagles (1-13) look poised take down the Lady Highlanders of Radford University (5-9) on Tuesday night Sept. 27. Instead, their opportunity was snatched away as the Lady Highlanders finished with five consecutive points to end the first set.
Eagles lose second straight game by 3 points or less
Injury, injury, then more injuries along with turnovers, and a 99-yard touchdown pass hurt the Eagles in their first game of conference play in the MEAC. The result was a heart-breaking defeat as the Eagles lose 33-30 to the Tigers of Savannah State University, also in its first year in the MEAC.

Wet ball, bad snap, bad hold, failed field goal: Eagles lose 23-22. The Eagles fail on a game winning field goal attempt with 1:51 seconds remaining in the 4th. "Low snap, wet ball and Jordan couldn't get it down," said first-year football coach Henry Frazier.
Young Eagles continue to learn
As if it already was not sweet enough to get their first victory of the season, the Lady Eagles of N.C. Central University do it again against their rivals. The Lady Aggies of N.C. A&T State University lagged behind NCCU on the track this past Saturday at the Salley Meyerhoff Fitness Loop in Durham.
Eagles hoist Cleveland Classic trophy after winning 42-3
After a disappointing start to the season in the debut of new head coach Henry Frazier, the N.C. Central Eagles (1-1) bounced back in a 42-3 rout over the Central State University, in the prestigious Cleveland Classic on Sept. 10. The game was played at Cleveland Browns Stadium, home to the NFL's Cleveland Browns.

On Sept. 1, in the N.C. Central University coaching debut of Henry Frazier III, at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway, N.J., turnovers, dropped passes, and poor execution contributed to NCCU's 48-0 loss to Rutgers.
Injuries mar start of season
Plagued by the injuries of three starters, the N.C. Central Volleyball team suffered four consecutive losses in its 5th annual RTP/NCCU Volleyball tournament held Aug. 26-27. The Lady Eagles had to make necessary adjustments to their lineup in order to accommodate such losses.
NCCU pitchers have a rough day on the mound
The N.C. Central University baseball team's strong offensive efforts were not enough to match University of Buffalo's (4-11) Tom Murphy's three home runs as they fell short in the latter innings 11-6. With strong hitting and flawless defensive effort, the Eagles pound out 11 hits and commit no errors. However the effort was thwarted by poor pitching, which has been the Achilles heel for the Eagles so far this season. The Bulls hit five home runs total, three of which came from Murphy's bat in innings five, six and eight.
"AGGIES!, AGGIES!, AGGIES!" was the chant heard on Fayetteville Street after Monday's basketball battle between the Eagles and N.C. A&T State University as the Eagles fell 72-67 to the Aggies. In a game that was mostly led by the Eagles, a late push midway through the second half gave the Aggies the lead, and they never looked back.
Women’s basketball come up short vs. BCU
With ten minutes to go in the first half of Monday night's women's basketball game against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, senior center and Jori Nwachucwu committed her second foul, which sent her to the bench early to stay out of more foul trouble. Wildcats post players Sarah Bolden and Amanda Hairston took advantage pf the N.C. Central University front-court, combining for 36 points and 20 rebounds en route to a 64-53 victory over NCCU.
Men’s basketball team lets one slip away against MEAC front runner 67-64
With 23 seconds left in the second half, a roaring crowd and down 66-64 to the Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats. The N.C. Central University Men's basketball team looked poised to knock off the MEAC front-runner. Unfortunately for Eagle fans, the victory was not sealed and the team fell 67-64. Coming out of their final timeout the Eagles got the ball in the hot hands of senior guard C.J. Wilkerson who was 6-12 from the field. Wilkerson drove toward the basket, got bumped by a defender in what looked to be a foul, and lost the basketball.

Top ranked Mountaineers rout Eagles 44-16
With nine returning starters, the N.C. Central University defense was expected to be the strength of the football team. However, Saturday against top–ranked Appalachian State, the Eagle defense looked overmatched as the Mountaineers steamrolled the Eagles 44-16. "Today we had to play catch-up football and when you have to do that it's hard to get back in the game," said Head Coach Mose Rison.
NCCU runs over Johnson C. Smith 59-0 in season opener
For Eagle fans, students and players, last Thursday could not have gone any better. Due to major power outages throughout campus, classes were cancelled. Many speculated about whether the game was going to take place. Not only did the game go on, but the N.C. Central University Eagles provided all the power, dominating Johnson C. Smith University 59-0.
Waking up Thursday morning, senior N.C. Central University quarterback Keon Williams found he had no classes. He also was in the dark about starting in the opening game of the 2010 football season for the Eagles. But he did just that. With everything on the line, Williams answered the bell and led the Eagles to a resounding 59-0 opening game victory over Johnson C. Smith University.

Saturday afternoon at O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium the N.C. Central University offense was clicking on all cylinders as they rolled up a season high 52 points to defeat 20th ranked NAIA opponent Central Methodist University 52-7.
